My Amazing Fiance

After only two weeks of "officially" being unemployed, Michael found a job. But not just any job... HIS job. A job so right for Michael it is as if it was designed for him, and perhaps it was. He will be "Leadership Development Specialist" at Youth Villages. (Youth Villages treats children with mental and behavioral health issues. It is nationally known for its innovative, research-based methods and has been recognized by the White House as a leader in the non-profit sector. See www.youthvillages.org to learn more.) One of the benefits available for employees of Youth Villages is a personal leadership development program. Michael will provide training for that program. He will be travelling across the country (mainly south and southeast United States) to other Youth Village facilities to train employees in the latest leadership techniques and theories. I am SOOOO jealous! What an AWESOME job! Michael has impressed me the past few months with such an optimistic approach to his job hunt. He truly believed his layoff from FedEx was an answer to prayer. He wanted something different, but didn't want to leave the luxury of a well-paying job. Once he learned the news of the layoff he kept his faith. He never waivered from believing God was in control and that something BETTER would come along for him. He didn't panic. He didn't stress. It was amazing to watch! And, in a matter of weeks, something BETTER did come along. Not the drastic pay cut we had fear, no loss in benefits, but more importantly... a chance to truly SERVE and make a difference. I love Michael deeply, so I am obviously biased. But Michael is the most optimistic, hope-filled person I have ever known. Watching him over the past two months and how he graciously dealt with this set-back was like watching faith in motion. It was a true testiment to the powerfulness of positivity, prayer and faith. I learned such incredible lessons for my own life and hope I can model the example Michael has set. Michael, you have once again shown me how blessed I am to have you in my life. You are an amazing man. You are going to make such an impact on the lives of those you touch at Youth Villages and beyond. Congratulations! You deserve this mountaintop! I love you. -Bev

So now you can get married! :) Oh and I'm a little skeptical that you truly are jealous...you hate to travel and hate to train. But I am happy for Michael, nonetheless. I guess it is a good thing they didn't give me that job after all...LOL :). Getting laid off has been a blessing to a lot of us!
